I enjoyed watching this video of Jarvis Cocker explaining how he wrote “Common People,” as part of a Sky TV series about the art of songwriting. I also really enjoyed him as Petey in The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Bill Burns @ Art Metropole

Over the weekend, Bill Burns had his Toronto Edition launch for Guard Tower Plans, Prison Cell Plans and the Songs of Guantanamo Bay, a multiple produced with all proceeds to benefit Art Metropole.

It includes a set of IKEA style assembly guides fashioned to provide readers with instructions on how to build replicas of the guard towers and prison cells at Camp X-Ray. It also includes a playlist of hit songs the prisoners like to listen to at the camp. If you're curious about what those songs are, you can see the list on their facebook.
