We went to the movies last night hoping to see
Hugo, but since it was sold out we ended up watching
A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. It is simply one of the best Christmas movies we’ve ever seen and a future classic in the genre of stoner films.
We had a ball at the launch for Issue 12—now for sale in our shop—last Thursday at
Clint Roenisch in Toronto. Thanks to Clint, Rob Gordon,
Readers & Writers, and of course
Geoffrey Knott for documenting it all.
Come by
Clint Roenisch tonight in Toronto to pick up a copy of our new issue, featuring James Franco, Peter Saville, Barbara Kruger, Erwin Wurm, Miranda July, PFFR, William Hundley, and ROLU. Party goes from 7 to 11pm—don't you dare miss it!
Sofia Coppola (
Issue 10) has recently teamed up with
Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery to curate a new exhibition of photographs by the late
Robert Mapplethorpe. Coppola is the third person to curate a selection of Mapplethorpe's work for the gallery in this way, following Cindy Sherman and David Hockney. The show is on display until 7 January, 2012 in Paris,
Last night we stopped by Miami’s Mondrian Hotel for the screening of
Harmony Korine’s (
Issue 3) short film
Caput starring
James Franco (Issue 12—coming soon). The short is part of Franco’s
Rebel, a project inspired by the film
Rebel Without A Cause, ever heard of it?
